GET INVOLVED

For those of you who think you have it "bad" please remember there is someone who always has it worse. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, more than 5.4 million people have died within the last ten years in two civil wars. There are tragic reports of women being brutally raped with guns and bayonets. According to the UNICEF Ambassador Dayle Haddon, " They are trying to destroy this community by destroying its women, but the Congolese are fighting back. They've created a women's tribunal to report to the government and the world what has happened; they're building communities where women can protect themselves and teach each other sills and literacy."

Stop complaining about the recession and try to be a little self-less and go to raisehopeforcongo.org. This is where you can register for updates and sign a petition demanding President Obama to pressure Congo's leaders to stop the violence.
